Last month, a full complement of attendees were treated to an exceptional learning opportunity as the Fire Industry Training Academy (FITA) hosted a comprehensive fire alarm training course at our recently renovated training facility. Held from the 24th to the 28th of March 2025, this five-day course brought together current and aspiring fire alarm professionals from across the region, all eager to deepen their understanding of BS 5839-1—the essential standard for fire detection and alarm systems in non-domestic premises.
Delivered by FITA’s expert instructor Peter Bell, the training offered the EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems for Buildings to BS 5839-1. This Ofqual-regulated award is not only a benchmark of competence but is also recognised under the BAFE SP203-1 Accreditation Scheme—making it an invaluable step forward for anyone serious about their role in fire safety.
We are long standing supporters of FITA and their excellent facility in nearby Caerphilly so this collaboration was a welcome opportunity. Zeta Alarms Director Lydia commented on the success of the event;
“We were proud to host this vital training course in collaboration with FITA. At Zeta Alarms, we’re passionate about raising standards in fire safety and ensuring that professionals across the industry have access to the very best education and resources. The enthusiasm and dedication of the attendees was inspiring, and we look forward to supporting more initiatives like this in the future.”
Participants were impressed by the depth and clarity of the instruction, as well as the training environment we’ve created. The facility proved to be the ideal backdrop and reinforced our position as a leading manufacturer in the fire sector.
A huge congratulations to everyone who completed the training and a heartfelt thanks to FITA making this happen. Here’s to continuing the momentum and raising fire safety standards even higher!
